  • The Grand Canyon State: one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It’s so vast and deep that it creates its own weather patterns!

  • Largest Ponderosa Pine Forest: Northern Arizona has the largest stand of Ponderosa pine trees in the world, particularly around Flagstaff.

  • Home to London Bridge: The original London Bridge was dismantled and shipped to Lake Havasu, Arizona, in 1968, where it was reassembled 

  • No Daylight Saving Time: Arizona doesn’t observe Daylight Saving Time, making it one of the few places in the U.S. on standard time year round

  • Meteor Crater: Arizona has one of the best-preserved meteorite impact sites in the world. The crater is about 1 mile wide and 560 feet deep.

  • Saguaro Cacti: The saguaro cactus, iconic of the American Southwest, is native to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona and can live up to 200 years. 

  • Arizona’s "Bootleg" Lake: Lake Powell was created by damming the Colorado River in the 1960s. 

  • Four Corners Monument: Arizona is one of four states (alongside Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico) where you can stand in four states at once.

  • Birdwatcher's Paradise: Arizona is a hotspot for birdwatchers, with around 550 species found in the state.

  • Tombstone and the Wild West: The town of Tombstone is famous for the 1881 Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, one of the most legendary events in Wild West history involving Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the Clanton-McLaury gang.
